  2023-02-07

Arginase deficiency is a rare urea cycle disorder with hyperargininemia and profound neurological impairment as hallmark features. Arginase-1-deficient mouse models have been created, and they exhibit a profound lethal phenotype approximately 2 weeks after birth in the global knockout (KO) mice or a

  2023-02-07

Implications for cancer ROS have a long history of being involved in the development and progression of cancer and increased ROS level is considered as a hallmark of many tumors [76], [77]. Initially, it was thought that ROS would serve as chemical mutagens that would indiscriminately damage cell

• Echinocandin resistance is systematically associated

  2023-02-07

Echinocandin resistance is systematically associated with point mutations in either FSK1 or FSK2 genes [7], [104]. These mutations are located in two different not spot regions of these genes named HS1 and HS2. Hot spot mutations have been reported in C. albicans, C. glabrata, C. tropicalis, C. krus

  2023-02-07

It was reported that oral administration of CSZ to C57BL/6J mice significantly improved spatial learning and memory, and prevented Aβ-induced immunoresponse in Aβ25-35-injected mice. However, post-treatment with CSZ after Aβ25-35 administration, when Aβ was already accumulated, did not prevent Aβ-in

  2023-02-07

The SMN1 and SMN2 promoters are regulated by transcription factors such as E26 transformation-specific domain containing protein (ELK-1) and cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB) 58, 59. Compared with WT animals, mice with SMA exhibit increased and decreased ELK-1 and CREB phosphorylation, re

  2023-02-07

  The importance of TARPs for AMPAR expression and function was revealed initially in the cerebellum, where the lack of γ-2 in the mutant mice waggler and stargazer (stg/stg) was associated with a selective loss of AMPAR-mediated synaptic currents in cerebellar granule Raltegravir (Chen et al., 2000;

  2023-02-07

To elucidate this relationship, we developed a spatial model of Ca-influx through N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR), CaMKII/PP1 activation, and AMPAR insertion in a realistic spine geometry. Using this model, we show that i) variables in membrane voltage mediated Ca-influx, particularly the numb

Material and methods Results Table 1 shows that in addition to Leu/CysAP and DPPIV, genes for AspAP, ArgAP, MetAP, APM and PSA are expressed in adipocytes. The kinetic parameters of these AP are also shown in Table 1, revealing that APM has the highest Vmax and catalytic efficiency (Kcat/Km),

  2023-02-07

Since all the above vascular and glomerular effects contribute to blood pressure regulation, it is expected for 12/15-LOX pathway to play a role in pathogenesis of hypertension (Fig. 6). Indeed, there is evidence for alterations of the 12- and 15LOX enzymes and metabolites both in humans with essent

  2023-02-06

It is reported that Adiponectin is able to suppress NF-κB pathway, and Bcr-Abl fusion oncoprotein in CML activates NF-κB by stimulating its nuclear translocation and also by enhancing its transactivation function [25], [26]. Therefore, it is tempting to hypothesize that NF-κB pathway might be involv

  2023-02-06

In nrf2 inhibitor to TPX2, members of the CPC (Figure 1B), such as survivin, borealin, and INCEN-P, which associate with Aurora B/C in animals, do not appear to have obvious homologs in plants. Recently, however, a putative INCEN-P homolog, termed WYRD, has been identified [34]. Sequence comparison

Materials and methods Results RT-PCR showed that both arginase 1 and 2 were expressed in the OB of Korean roe deer (Fig. 1). Immunoblotting detected arginase 1 in the OB of roe deer (Fig. 2A, left lane) at a molecular weight of approximately 37kDa, which is the size of the enzyme in the rat O

Although only Leu/CysAP (IRAP) (Herbest et al., 1997, Keller, 2004) and DPPIV (Alponti and Silveira, 2010, Kirino et al., 2009) had been identified and studied in adipocytes, our kinetic analysis suggested the highest physiological significance for AspAP (highest affinity) and APM and PSA (highest e
