Introduction Heart Failure (HF) is a major and growing health challenge in India and the developing countries. It is one of the most important causes of morbidity and mortality in the industrialized world. The incidence and prevalence estimates of HF are unreliable in India because of the lack of

WKY and SHR strains have important differences mainly in their sympathetic status but also in the activity of the RAS. The development of hypertension in SHR is clearly related to an increase in sympathetic activity [51], [11]. In addition, increased renal sympathetic nerve activity led to an increa

The first rationally designed dual mPGES-1/5-LO inhibitor was reported in 2008 and represents a structural derivative of pirinixic EW-7197 - a synthetic agonist of PPARα with lipid-lowering properties (Koeberle et al., 2008b). Further α-alkyl- and α-aryl-substituted derivatives have been synthesized

Another topic for research will be the combination of other cytotoxic agents with Aurora kinase inhibitors. Particularly interesting might be the combination of Aurora kinase inhibitors and agents that depend on the spindle checkpoint for their activity, such as the taxanes, given the importance of

Preliminary results of studies sponsored by the manufacturer of ETC-1002 have also shown positive results for monotherapy in statin-intolerant patients and for the combined use of the ACL inhibitor plus other cholesterol-reducing agents. In patients with a documented history of intolerance to statin

Recent studies have demonstrated significant cross-talk between XRCC1 (a key player in Sodium salicylate excision repair (BER) and single strand break repair) and DDR [30], [31], [32]. ATM and DNA-PKcs are known to be involved in the phosphorylation of XRCC1 to promote BER [30], [31]. We have recen
